PULSO explores t he many rhyt hms t hat shape how we gat her, create, and exist toget her. Moving between physical + cultural registers, t he exhibition connects printmaking, coffee, and listening as shared practices rooted in labor, ritual, and exchange. Pressing ink to paper, pouring coffee, and selecting sound all operate t hrough pulse, repetition, and timing. These gestures form a collective rhyt hm t hat values slowness, attention, and presence, grounding the exhibition within the lived atmosphere of Long Play Hi-Fi and in dialogue with Califia Farms.
The works presented do not follow a singular narrative, but instead reflect a range of conditions, identities, and cultural perspectives. Imager y moves between t he intimate and the political, from scenes of stillness and ever yday ritual to works t hat address labor, identity, and t he pressures of contemporar y life. Rooted in projects such as Otoño + Deriva, the exhibition brings toget her ar tists from t he United States, México, and France, working across relief printing + mezzotint techniques. Together, these approaches highlight printmaking’s capacity to carry both personal and collective histories, where layering, repetition, and circulation mirror t he rhyt hms of t he cultures from which t hey emerge.
Ultimately, PULSO is about coexistence. These works come toget her not to resolve into a single meaning, but to exist alongside one anot her, like overlapping frequencies. In this space, the exhibition invites a pause to consider how we move t hrough time, what we value, and how community is formed through shared acts of making, gat hering, and being present.
